Oriental Art Centre Shangha?
In addition to the documents that Paul Andreu gave us, the last instructions concerning the stone cladding of the OAC are as following:
- We agree with your proposal of the windows, for the leaves L2, L3, L5. In this three leaves, the windows measures are 60 x 178 cm, at the outside finish plane.
- We do also agree with the horizontal proportion of the cladding.
- But we have modified the verticals joints so that we are able to position the three jet nozzles. Anyhow, the window's position doesn't change, as well as the space between the windows of a same group panels are still constant: 230/.213/234…
- The major horizontal joints (thickness: 2cm) are positioned in the middle-axis, every 60cm.
All around the building, an empty joint (as a skirting board, thickness: 10cm) links the building with the natural ground.
The top of the wall is heightened everywhere at 6.10m. It is making it more coherent, in fact the floor of Leaf 3 goes up to level + 6.10m.
- In general, the joineries (aluminium window frames) are set back in order to be always hidden by the stone.
- The breast wall of the windows are designed so that they are at 90 cm of the interior floor every where at the ground floor.
It might not be in accordance with the Chinese standard, so we can change the angle of this window support if required.
-Restaurant’s windows are supposed to de fixed, but if there is a necessity to open them ,we suggest pivot hung system windows. On such case the window pivot has to be located as high as possible in order not to have the window come into the room.
Please find enclosed the drawings.
Yours sincerely.
OAC team.
